If antiques are your jam, you’d have been in heaven at the event we catered at last Sunday! Hog Roast Whitchurch found ourselves amidst a wonderland of trinkets, exquisite furniture, original artworks, and dazzling jewellery, with some pieces dating back several centuries. This massive antiques fair drew in a lively crowd, with hundreds of guests eagerly exploring the stalls, haggling for deals, and soaking up the rich history.
Our catering crew, led by the ever-enthusiastic Ollie, couldn’t wait to get stuck in! We spent the whole morning prepping our delicious hog roast sandwiches for the attendees before the gates opened.
Our free-range hog was slow-cooked to absolute perfection over a low flame, creating tender, juicy meat that was irresistible. Once cooked, we carved the hog and served it on gluten-free and wholemeal rolls. The combo of soft, succulent pulled pork and crunchy, bubbling pork rinds was a match made in heaven.
Of course, no hog roast is complete without sage and onion stuffing, and our homemade recipe knocked everyone’s socks off with its rich flavour and sensational seasoning. A generous dollop of applesauce added the ideal hint of sweetness and tartness to round out the flavours.
We made sure to cater to everyone’s tastes, whipping up BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls for our vegan and vegetarian pals. These babies were dripping with hickory goodness and were so darn tasty, that even the most die-hard meat lovers were tempted to give them a go!
With Ollie and the team working like a well-oiled machine, Hog Roast Whitchurch kept the food flowing and the crowds happy all day long. The atmosphere was buzzing, with the scent of our hog roast mingling with the excitement of the hunt for vintage treasures.
As the event wound down and the stalls started to pack up, Hog Roast Whitchurch served up the last of our hog roast rolls to the die-hard antique enthusiasts. Their smiles and satisfied bellies were the perfect end to a fantastic day. We packed up our gear, high-fived each other for a job well done, and headed back to HQ, proud as punch to have another successful event under our belts!
