Helen’s 50th birthday was a momentous occasion that the whole family was eager to get involved in. So much so that they had decided to organise a surprise party for her to properly mark the occasion!
Everyone came together to plan the event and was allocated different responsibilities. For example, Helen’s eldest daughter, Alice, was asked to take care of the food side of things, and after doing some research, she decided to hire Hog Roast Whitchurch!
Our Gourmet BBQ Menu was just what Alice had in mind for her mum’s special day, and our team was delighted to help her customise the menu further by incorporating a savoury grazing table and dessert options.
When the day of the party rolled around, everyone was relieved that the weather here in Hampshire was on its best behaviour. After days of rain, the clouds had finally cleared to reveal bright blue skies and toasty temperatures.
Hog Roast Whitchurch’s caterers were busy grilling the meats, frying the chips and tossing salads when the guests began to arrive at midday, and right away, their mouths began to water from the glorious food smells. The excitement and anticipation hung thick in the air as everyone prepared to dig in. But first, they had to wait for Helen’s arrival.
Fortunately, the birthday girl didn’t keep them waiting long! The event was hosted at her sister Anne’s house, so Helen had no clue about the surprise waiting for her when she arrived for a ”cup of tea and a catch up” – as Anne had put it!
The sight of all her loved ones huddled together in Anne’s back garden with balloons and banners knocked Helen for six, but she quickly recovered when Hog Roast Whitchurch’s team handed her a plate, which she gladly filled with a little bit of everything on the menu. Next, it was the turn of the guests to dive into the buffet, and they eagerly sampled the burgers, sausages, spareribs, chicken kebabs and grilled veggie skewers that our team prepared.
A grazing table of deli meats, cheeses, olives, crusty bread and other nibbles was laid out by our team for the guests to help themselves to, along with a buffet of individual cheesecakes and chocolate torte desserts.
Everything about the day was better than Helen could have dreamed of, and the memories she created with her family will last a lifetime.
