When it comes to showcasing innovation and new ideas, having the right food alongside the event makes all the difference. On Thursday, 4th September, Hog Roast Liphook was delighted to cater at the Hollycombe Centre for an MOD Demo Day, serving 75 guests with a feast that matched the energy and excitement of the occasion. Catering Manager Olly and the team were on hand to deliver our famous Southern Slow Roast Menu, a choice that never fails to impress.
Guests enjoyed three mouth-watering mains straight from the smoker. The tender BBQ pork butt, rich and flavourful Texan 24-hour beef brisket, and fiery Cajun spiced chickens created a menu that had something for every taste. Each dish was accompanied by an array of our signature sauces – the smokey sweet BBQ glaze, hot Cajun pepper sauce, and our legendary hickory bourbon BBQ sauce – allowing guests to personalise their plates.
Our freshly baked bread rolls and wraps, including gluten free and wholemeal, gave everyone plenty of options, while the sides balanced indulgence with freshness. Bowls of seasonal green leaf salad, crisp gourmet coleslaw, and creamy potato salad were laid out for guests to enjoy buffet-style. The combination meant every plate was hearty, colourful, and satisfying.
We also ensured that no one felt left out with our homemade vegetarian and vegan alternatives. The grilled vegetable skewers, served with tzatziki and sweet chilli dips, were a hit among plant-based guests. For vegans, we served skewers without halloumi, offering the same smoky chargrilled flavours that fit seamlessly alongside the rest of the spread.
Served on rustic bamboo crockery with wooden cutlery and quality napkins, the setup looked smart yet practical – ideal for an event where people wanted to eat while networking and moving between demonstrations.
The day was all about innovation and progress, and Hog Roast Liphook made sure the catering rose to the occasion. With plates piled high, happy faces, and plenty of compliments coming our way, it was clear the food helped keep the positive energy flowing throughout the showcase.
