Two Birthdays, One Hog Roast Ashtead Feast – Double the Reason to Celebrate Properly!

Hog Roast AshteadSomewhere along the line, joint birthday parties got an unfair reputation. The assumption being that sharing your big day means diluting it somehow – splitting the attention, halving the fun, compromising on everything from the cake to the guest list. In reality, the opposite tends to be true.

Hog Roast Ashtead has been noticing a steady rise in joint celebrations over the past few years, and there’s a pattern that’s hard to ignore: they’re almost always livelier, warmer and more enjoyable than solo affairs. Two sets of friends colliding or two family members hittingĀ  a big milestone means two reasons to raise a glass and twice the energy in the room from the moment people walk in. Far from losing their sparkle, these parties tend to have more of it.

Case in point – a recent joint birthday bash where 60 guests gathered to celebrate two people at once, and Hog Roast Ashtead was brought in to make sure the food was worthy of the occasion.

We had the hog roasting low and slow for several hours before the 3pm serving time, but the carving – done in front of the guests, as it should be – created exactly the kind of moment that gets a room buzzing. Tender pulled pork, proper crackling, sage and onion stuffing and homemade applesauce were then loaded into soft rolls and wraps while the sides did their part beautifully alongside: tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed greens, creamy coleslaw and roasted new potatoes rounding everything out.

Hog Roast AshteadFor guests who wanted something other than pork, Hog Roast Ashtead’s handmade British beef burgers with melting cheese and fried onions were a very well-received alternative. Vegetarian and vegan guests had colourful grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs with tzatziki, chilli sauce and flatbreads – which turned out to be so delicious that even the meat enthusiasts were drooling.

Then came dessert, because two birthdays absolutely demand a sweet finish. Creamy cheesecakes with a crunchy biscuit base, profiteroles with sticky chocolate sauce and fresh fruit salad gave everyone something to linger over.
