From extravagant corporate functions and weddings held at beautiful country manor houses, to surprise birthday bashes and intimate garden party get-togethers – our catering portfolio covers it all! But while we absolutely love helping people to celebrate all of life’s special occasions, there are fewer things we find more rewarding than helping charities to raise vital funds for great causes.
As a result, you’ll find that the Hog Roast Havant team always jumps at the chance to get involved with philanthropic events, and our most recent opportunity arose a few weeks ago. When designated event organiser, Jackie got in contact to see if we could help out with the open-air live music night she had been placed in charge of planning in aid of a children’s charity, we couldn’t wait to assist! Having sold out of all 75 tickets, the client was looking for a meal that would be equally inclusive and delicious.
At the recommendation of the Hog Roast Havant catering manager, Jackie decided on our southern slow roast menu which offers a trio of pre-marinated free-range meats, cooked ‘low and slow’ in our HogMaster machine with four side dishes based on classic American cuisine. In this case, the client selected a menu which included Texan 24 hour beef brisket, fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs, cajun spiced whole roast chickens and a meatless alternative of BBQ pulled jackfruit wraps with plenty of fresh veg. The side dishes were comprised of creamy mac and cheese, corn on the cob dripping with butter, cajun spiced sweet potato wedges and Memphis style crunchy coleslaw.
Fast-forwarding to the day of the event which took place last Saturday, Hog Roast Havant arrived at the site hours before the serve, giving the team plenty of time to distance the tables several feet apart from each other and cook up the meal. As the irresistible aromas from the spread began to fill the air, the guests arrived to take their seats, but not before collecting a plateful of the delicious food!
The food Hog Roast Havant created was an instant hit, as were the live performances from local up-and-coming bands which helped to raise an incredible amount of money for the charity!
