In recent years visiting specially planted fields of beautiful flowers has become a favourite hobby of those enjoying hot summer days. Hog Roast New Milton’s latest event was the final night of the New Milton sunflower field, it was a sunset party for the hard workers and management to celebrate what has been a rather difficult season at the beautiful golden field.
The 25 hard workers were treated by their boss to a delicious buffet to reward them for the work they have done to make the field ready for the visitors they could welcome for the final few days of the season. It hasn’t been an easy year for horticultural workers and the clients of this event really wanted to emphasise their gratitude to their workers for being so reliable.
The buffet was all made fresh on site by the Catering Manager from Hog Roast New Milton in the hours leading up to the sunset serving time of 8:30pm. The clients stuck to a classic Hog Roast menu with vegetarian and vegan options added to the menu.
There was a tasty slow spit roasted pig that was served with a delicious crispy crackling, homemade sage and onion stuffing as well as optional apple sauce. Alongside this there was grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers, plain vegetable skewers, BBQ pulled jack-fruit and a mountain of tasty fries for everyone to tuck into. Finally, completing the exquisite buffet was a large selection of soft gluten free rolls and some dips and condiments for the guests to try if they so wished.
As part of the catering package the clients selected the Hog Roast New Milton supplied wooden bamboo crockery and cutlery for the guests to use, which were then later collected by the Catering Manager and taken from site to be washed and reused at future events. After the buffet had been enjoyed by the ravenous guests the Catering Manager quietly tidied away, taking all rubbish generated by the catering off site to be disposed of safely and responsibly.
The guests and clients were delighted with the buffet. The evening was as beautiful and relaxing and rewarding as they had wanted.
