On that front, we recently had the pleasure of catering a 50th birthday party right on our doorstep. A milestone like that deserves a feast that feels celebratory but relaxed, so the host can actually enjoy their own day instead of hovering near the kitchen. So handing the catering over to Hog Roast Reading was the smartest choice they could have made. Their second smart move was the menu itself.
For their intimate gathering of 30 close friends and family, the client went with our signature hog roast. Slow-roasted on our stainless steel grill for several hours, the meat came out tender, juicy and utterly irresistible. Adding to the experience, we served it with heaps of golden crackling, sage and onion stuffing and our tangy homemade applesauce, all piled into soft buns or wraps for the ultimate sandwich.
Of course, a great party menu is all about balance, so we added a fresh mixed salad and gourmet coleslaw to cut through the richness – and
both went down a treat. We also know how much it matters to look after everyone’s dietary needs, so there was a freshly prepared vegetarian and vegan-friendly option too. Nobody leaves one of our events hungry and this one was no exception.
With 30 happy guests fed and the atmosphere in full swing, everyone was in full agreement that it was a cracking way to ring in a new decade.
