Our latest booking at Hog Roast Goodworth Clatford was a joint celebration with a bit of everything going on, marking both a 25th wedding anniversary and the couple’s son turning 21. As I’m sure you’ll agree, that’s quite a combination, and with 160 friends and family invited along to celebrate, this was never going to be a quiet affair. No siree.
To make sure the whole thing landed properly, the couple had gone with a “Creatures of the Forest” theme, which gave the celebration a genuinely fun, slightly enchanted twist. With the decorations, atmosphere, venue and guest list all sorted, there was just one important box left to tick: feeding everyone.
Knowing a great party needs a menu to match, the clients came straight to Hog Roast Goodworth Clatford, keen to have Hampshire’s go-to hog roast team involved. We’ve built a solid reputation around here for cooking the best-tasting pigs in the region, and honestly, when you’re after a showstopper, nothing quite matches a whole hog roast for sheer impact.
On the day, our team spent the entire afternoon preparing a classic hog roast, with sage and onion stuffing cooked in the pig’s own juices for that extra depth of flavour, plus pork scratchings and homemade applesauce on the side. The reaction spoke volumes, with guests already gathering round before we’d even finished carving.
Once plates were sufficiently piled with juicy pork, bread rolls, tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed salad, coleslaw and a mix of sweet potato and classic fries, everyone found a comfy spot to settle in and eat. Not that they stayed put for long, mind you – with that much on offer, second and third helpings happened without any hesitation whatsoever.
And for anyone not keen on pork, we also served up juicy chicken thighs, grilled veggie kebabs and BBQ pulled jackfruit, so every single guest had something worth tucking into.
The client was absolutely thrilled with how it all came together. Between the presentation, the flavour and our team’s genuinely upbeat energy throughout the day, Hog Roast Goodworth Clatford was the cherry on top of an already brilliant celebration.
