Summer might technically be over on paper, but with temperatures still hovering comfortably in the low twenties and the odd burst of sunshine sneaking through the grey clouds, we’re perfectly happy pretending it’s still peak season for a bit longer. And apparently, we’re not the only ones thinking that way.
A few weeks back we heard from a local business hoping to throw a summer party for 70 staff – and we were genuinely chuffed they trusted Hog Roast Farnham with the catering. The event went ahead on the 3rd of September, and thankfully the weather behaved itself. Mostly. Temperatures topped out around 21 degrees, the sky leaned more grey than blue, but honestly, nobody seemed to mind. They were all in great spirits and ready to dive straight into the celebrations – especially once the food came into view.
Hog Roast Farnham had spent the hours leading up to the party building a proper BBQ buffet, and we’re pleased to say it had something for absolutely everyone. Thai chicken kebabs brought a bit of spice for any heat-seekers in the crowd, while our gourmet sausages, juicy inside, perfectly crisp outside, paired beautifully with soft rolls and a good drizzle of sauce for something a little heartier. But, honestly, it was the burgers that really stole the show. Made fresh from quality beef, they were irresistibly juicy, and guests could dress them up further with melted cheese and fried onions if they fancied. We also made sure nobody was left out with a veggie burger option, BBQ pulled jackfruit sliders, and a solid line-up of seasonal green leaf salad, our homemade gourmet coleslaw and a generous mix of sweet potato and classic fries.
Guests were clearly in their element, piling plates high and going back for more late into the evening. The BBQ Menu turned out to be exactly the right call, keeping that lingering summer feeling alive while giving everyone plenty to choose from.
In the end, it was a brilliant day and honestly, Hog Roast Farnham is already looking forward to doing it all over again next summer.
